Mental health includes our social, emotional and psychological well-being. Mental health is crucial at any stage of life from childhood, adolescence through adulthood. Some people describe it an as an earthquake that can strike any time and everybody has some risk of developing it no matter the age, gender or ethnicity. 1 out of every 5 people in the United States suffer from mental health issues. In the year, 2017, an estimated amount of 11.2 million adults were diagnosed with mental health disorders. Although the term mental health is in common use, many conditions that doctors recognize as psychological disorders have physical roots. In much of the developed world mental disorders are the leading cause of disability.
i completely agree with this post. People can suffer from mental health issues regardless of their age. Speaking from personal experience, as a teenager i am going through a very dark phase in my life. it started off as anxiety and the next thing i know is that im so petrified to even leave my house because of the overbearing judgement of people and even my peers.
This platform has helped me come to terms with my suffering, accept it and get myself the required treatment.
