Dear Readers, I am excited to launch my blog “WriteMinds” on all things mental health. Although, this space has been created to express feelings, experiences and thoughts about mental health, it doesn’t have to be limited and the post could be yours or any friend or close relative you’d like to share about. You could add any information you like about coping with mental health challenges, or just share a picture or poem in solidarity with those who suffer, or a day in the life of a person suffering with depression, anxiety and any related readings or numbers. The purpose of this blog is to educate, create awareness and help chip away the stigma behind mental health. Writing how you feel goes back a long way in time. Before the ubiquity of blogs and social media, psychologists encouraged their patients to write about their thoughts and emotions that arise due to the illness so discussions during therapy makes diagnosis easier. Anonymity on my blog further helps those people who are concerned about their friends and family knowing. Together, let’s make a difference towards happy and healthy lives. Under the same title, I’m also sharing how my “right mind” works stronger giving rise to a creative side. I hope you enjoy my poems to uplift your spirits.
